I am Cholo

Jaime Cuadra has been able to give new airs and spirit to the Creole music. His risky but successful combination has consisted in merging Creole Music with the chill out. Acceptance has been worldwide: three tracks of the record Cholo Soy (I am Cholo) form part of the soundtrack of the last James Bond film...
Jaime Cuadra was in the gym, lost in thought in a tiring exercise routine, when the sudden ringing of his mobile phone brought him back to reality. At the other side of the line, his executive producer seemed anxious: “Sony has sent you an e-mail”, she said. And it was not from Sony Music, as Jaime thought at first, but from Sony Pictures. “They are interested in one of your sound tracks from the record Cholo Soy for a film”, she emphasized, excited.
Jaime remembers that moment some months later, comfortably sitting in his office: “The first thing you think is that it must be for any kind of film, one of a low budget”, he comments. Nothing farther from reality. The film in question was Quantum of Solace, from the famous James Bond Agent 007 saga. However, this was only the initial part of big news completed some months later, when he was informed that Marc Foster, the director of the film, wanted to use other two of his sound tracks. “As an artist, it was very exciting, very rewarding. I haven’t processed this entirely yet”, he assures...(*)
