Tribute to the breeders

We are already living the great week of the Peruvian Paso Horse, the most expected by all breeders from Peru and abroad. Between April 19 and 26, we will have the opportunity to see all the great horses in the different classes scheduled for the LXIV National Show.
For the second consecutive year, Juan Manuel Rizo Patrón Barúa has the responsibility of judging, evaluating and comparing approximately eight hundred horses at their maximum expression. What a big responsibility for Juan Manuel, but also what great confidence he has received from the breeders, because, as I said, he was in charge of the previous judgment.
What’s unbelievable is that a few days ago Juan Manuel himself told me that the great tribute that breeders should receive for the quality they attain with their breeding is that nationals should be judged by two judges instead of one. He considers that when four experimented eyes evaluate the horses keenly in order not to miss any detail, personal leading roles are avoided and the horse becomes the great beneficiary. Without doubt, this is a humble and detached gesture by Juan Manuel, who thinks more in the breed than in his condition of great horse expert, its breeding, training, preparation and judging. It is something that all of us, as breeders and persons who have the vote in our hands, should consider in the near future.
During this week we will have the opportunity to chat with breeders and aficionados from the different regions of Peru and abroad. And not only with those who are visiting us in order to attend the show, but with those who participate as exhibitors, like Mauricio Humboldt from Bolivia, and Eugene Pepe from the United States. To both of them, by the way, I am thankful for their efforts in favor of the promotion, diffusion and enhancement of the breed throughout the world.
A Summit of Presidents of Associations of Breeders and Owners of the PPH abroad will also be held, wisely scheduled by the Board of Directors chaired by Roque Benavides Ganoza. Therein topics like the registry, judging and breeding will be discussed, as well as the official show rules and breed standard sought by all breeders of the world ...(*)
